2018
We first met while working in Central Java, in the city of Tegal, at a beautiful and simple church. At that time, we were each separately taking our first steps toward perfect careers, living our own lives, and then life took us in different directions.
2025
For seven years, there were no meaningful conversations between us. Rio occasionally contacted Janette to ask how she was doing, and Janette replied briefly. We were truly walking on different paths. And in an extraordinary way, God provided an opportunity in mid 2025. Rio greeted Janette warmly, tirelessly, and without giving up. By the end of the year, it suddenly felt as if time had never passed.
2026
Without wasting any time, Rio immediately went to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, to meet Janette and her family, and we went on vacation together. And that’s when we knew that God always has His ways, and we believe that everything is beautiful in its time. With God’s help, we immediately hit it off and have been laughing ever since. Now we are planning something even better: to live together forever. Thank you, Lord.
Now, here we are, writing the next chapter of our love story. And we can’t wait to celebrate it with you.
