Sometimes, the most beautiful stories begin in the simplest way. Ours began with an Instagram follow and a little courage. For a month, he quietly watched my stories, leaving nothing but a silent “like”, until one day, he finally replied. It was a photo of sekoteng, and his very first message was simply, “Where is this?” Looking back, it’s funny how something so ordinary became the beginning of everything.
From that first conversation, we found ourselves talking effortlessly. When the time came for our first date, it felt only right that we shared a bowl of sekoteng together, the very thing that brought us to one another.
Loving each other meant embracing the distance. We lived in different cities, Ngabang-Pontianak, with only one chance each month to finally be together. Though the miles often separated us, they never made us feel far apart. Every goodbye became something to look forward to, because we always knew another hello was waiting for us.
From the very beginning, there was a sense of peace in us a feeling that this was no ordinary love story. We clicked so naturally, understood each other so deeply, and found comfort in simply being ourselves. Somehow, I knew in my heart that he was the one God had prepared for me.
And now, here we are, ready to celebrate our forever together.
